From the company’s inception and the westward expansion of the United States, Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc. (MKS) have provided quality building materials to the building industry. In the early twentieth century MKS provided an extremely durable, premium building stone for bridges, depots and warehouses constructed to support the railroads’ western progress. In ensuing years, particularly after World War I, stone supplied by Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc. became increasingly popular for use in the construction of institutional and commercial buildings throughout the Midwestern and Eastern United States. During this period many post offices, cathedrals, universities, museums and federal buildings utilized the stone quarried by Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc. Most notable of these buildings is the grand Philadelphia Museum of Art, which has maintained its original beauty for generations. Today, Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc. remains committed to provide the building industry with quality limestone for both interior and exterior applications for a wide variety of projects across the United States as well as in the International market.
